The act of painting serves as a profound metaphor for life itself. Just as life continually evolves, painting undergoes transformation and growth with each layer of the process.
Faces emerge from the unexpected errors, accidents, and deliberate mark-making. The artwork inches closer to its intended culmination, yet it never attains absolute perfection. It remains in a perpetual state of becoming, mirroring the ever-changing essence of existence.
My undergraduate studies immersed me in modern English dramas and poetry, shaping my artistic perspective. In my twenties, I explored various professions, from graphic novels to HR in heavy industry. These encounters enriched my artistic process.
When I approach a wooden panel, I blend found images and imagination, drawing inspiration from people, movies, books, songs, and art history.
But always what inspires me the most are the underdogs who are fighting against their own destiny - sexual minorities, women, and socially and historically underprivileged people. I use oil to create textured, colorful paintings on wood, aiming for depth and richness.
My art focuses on capturing timeless emotions and stories within faces and figures. I uncover stories that bridge the tangible and ethereal.
It is a visual language to communicate the human experience, inviting viewers to connect with the stories on the canvas.
